Exciting Opportunity – Head of Recreational Gymnastics

East Kent Gymnastics is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Head of Recreational Gymnastics to join our growing team as we prepare to launch our exciting new club.

About the Role

As Head of Recreational Gymnastics, you will be responsible for overseeing and developing our recreational gymnastics programme, ensuring the highest standards of coaching, safety and participant experience.

You will lead our recreational coaching team, support gymnasts’ progression and help establish a welcoming club culture from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality recreational gymnastics sessions.
• Lead the development and growth of the recreational programme.
• Support, mentor and oversee the recreational coaching team.
• Create a safe, positive and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Develop structured lesson plans and progression pathways for gymnasts of all ages and abilities.
• Monitor gymnast progress and provide constructive feedback to participants and parents.
• Ensure all activities are delivered in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and governing body requirements.
• Assist with timetabling, class allocations and programme planning.
• Support club events, displays, competitions and special activities.
• Build strong relationships with gymnasts, parents and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of a British Gymnastics Level 2 Coaching Qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous experience coaching recreational gymnastics.
• Experience leading or mentoring other coaches is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, enthusiastic and professional attitude.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple classes and priorities.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Current safeguarding and first aid qualifications are desirable, or a willingness to obtain them.
• A passion for creating engaging and inclusive gymnastics experiences.

Working Hours

Part-time position with the potential for additional hours as the club grows.

Evening and weekend availability will be required.
